We sent Erik Brannstrom, Oscar Lindberg, and a 2nd round pick to Ottowa. This looks like a pretty great trade for Vegas. Let’s dig a little deeper, yeah? Mark Stone is one of the top proven forwards in the NHL. He would have gone into this offseason as an Unrestricted Free agent and The Senators, having such a terrible season, really needed to make some changes. It’s infinitely better to get something for your best guy, than to lose him for nothing. So really, this trade looks good for both teams.
