DETRIOT WHAT!?!

Vegas played their final game against the Eastern Division on Saturday night. The Vegas Golden Knights mixed it up on their lines a little bit. Tuch was  bumped up to the second in the absence of Max Pacioretty. On the utility line, Carrier returned to deliver the boom and Tomas Nosek was in for Bellemare at center. The 3rd line looked completely different for Cody Eakin, he was paired with Valentin Zykov and Ryan Carpenter. Zykov played 5 games for the Knights and scored 1 goal after he was claimed of waivers from the Oilers. His last game played was on February 9th against the Blue Jackets. One thing about Zykov . . . He's faaaaaaaast

Detroit came out heavy and at 3:06 into the period a shot on goal was rebounded for a nice pass through the crease for an easy tap in,  leaving Malcom Subban hanging out to dry. The goal was scored by Luke Glendening assisted by Taro Hisrose and Andreas Athanasiou.  Detroit played well with good puck possession. Jimmy Howard and Malcom Subban both some excellent stops between the pipes. Subban survived a 3 on 1 rush and a 4 on 1 rush back to back. The period ended with 9 shots on goal for Detroit and 10 for Vegas The Knights continue to look good in the takeaway department with 8 to Detroit's 2, but the Knights had 4 giveaways to Detroit's 1. This is the 1st time in 8 games the Knights did not score a goal in the first period.

Mason Bowey was called for Interference on Carrier. The Red Wings killed off the penalty but 10 seconds later with just over 5 minutes left in the period, Cody Eakin slapped one in, giving him his career high 20th goal. This is the first 20-goal season for Eakin. Both Ryan Reaves and Nate Schmidt assisted. The Knights Nick Holden was called for holding on Anthony Mantha giving the Red Wings their first power play which would only last 26 second due to a roughing call on Dylan Larkin. The game went to 4 on 4 and The Knights had 8 Shots on goal with 5 of their shots blocked during this period and Detroit had 10 shots on goal with 8 of theirs blocked. Both teams showed decent puck control only having 3 giveaways apiece.

In the first 5 minutes of the 3rd Subban came up with some brilliant saves to get things rolling for the Knights. At the 6:45 mark  Larkin went to the box for tripping Karlsson. The Knights had some good looks but no success. At 9:45, Carpenter was called for hooking Tyler Bretuzzi, which set off the key events for the 3rd period. 32 seconds into the power play, Reilly Smith came up with a takeaway in the defensive zone pushing the puck up to gain possession to get the breakaway that led to a gorgeous backhand top shelf shorthanded goal putting the Knights up 2-1... for a whopping 1 minute and 15 seconds. On the same power play Anthony Mantha scored on a great one timer assisted by teammates Niklas Kornwall and Andreas Athanasiou (2). A very close call with 3 minutes and 17 seconds left in the period. Detroit came close to putting it away with a deflection that came off Thomas Vanek's left wrist. The puck sliding in off Subbans right goal post almost giving the Red Wings the go ahead goal. Vanek immediately headed to the beach were he got some ice on his wrist. The Knights had a couple of good chances on goal but time ran out.

The Knights and Detroit each claimed their point for regulation and headed to overtime. The game was decided in 19 seconds. Karlsson won the faceoff. Larkin got a takeaway from Reilly Smith right in front of the goal skating past Malcom Subban with a beautiful behind the back pass that centered up Anthony Mantha for a game winning OT goal.

FULL DRAFT FOR THE RAIDERS

The Raiders with the 4th overall pick drafted Clemson's DE Clelin Ferrell a player projected to be a middle first round pick. The Raider had the least amount of sacks in the league this last year. He is consisted a high character guy. He was red shirted his freshman year in college due to a torn ACL in high school. His 3 years in college he did not miss a game and had 27 sacks. Last year he tallied up 11.5 sacks during the National Championship run for Clemson. This may not be what Raiders fans want at the number 4 pick BUT this may be what the Raiders need a good piece to help with sacks and a high character guy to collect the big pay check for a high first round pick. He shows no quit and has a good work ethic in college and a strong family with a military background. This type of behavior can be a contagious for a locker room in the NFL. GAME 7 END GAME FOR THE KNIGHTS

Game 7 was a faceoff between the Knights and the Sharks that solidified a rivalry that's been building.  The Knights started out a minute 58 into the game with a Colin Miller hooking call to put the Sharks on a early power play. The Knights PK held the Sharks to no shots. 19 seconds after the Knights came through on the PK McNabb was called for a weak crosscheck to put the Sharks right back on the power play. The Knight's PK and MAF came through in a team effort to kill off the penalty. With just over 10minutes into the 1st William Karlsson scored the first goal on a nice little chip-in goal assisted by Reilly Smith and Marchessault. The Knights went on their first PP of the game but momentum was cut short by Tuch with an interference on Braun. It was weak call as Tuch was getting back on sides a barely bumped Braun. The Sharks took their time with the puck on the 4 on 4 to get to their power play. The Knights PK came through again. The Period ended 1-0 Knights. The sec...
