PLAYOFF PREVIEW

The Sharks and the Knights wasted no time setting the tone on Saturday night. Karlsson and company got things rolling with an early goal in the first 4 minutes of the period. He was assisted by line mates Reilly Smith and Jonathan Marchessault. Shortly after the goal things continued to heat up as Marcus Sorensen and Colin Miller both got offsetting penalties. Sorensen was called for interference and Miller for  unsportsmanlike conduct. The game remained physical and eventually a brawl broke out. As the Golden Knights protect their net minder, Joe Thornton jabbed his stick in Ryan Reaves throat as the referee was in-between them. Reaves tried to go after him and Thornton tried to poke the bear again. Teammates from both teams came in while Engelland, Carrier, and Schmitt came in to toss around a few of the Sharks trying to get involved. In the end Ryan Reaves was called for 10 minutes misconduct and roughing against Thornton which was served by Alex Tuch. Thornton was called for 2 minute high sticking. Gallant would let the referees have it as Thornton got off easy and Reaves was in the surprising role of defending himself. The game went to 4 on 4 for bit. Shea Theodore caught 2 for slashing Kevin Labanc. The Sharks had a 4 on 3 power play for about 18 seconds and they rolled into a 4 on 5 PP after the 18 seconds. The penalties were killed off and the wild period ended with the Knights up 1-0.

The second started off with the Sharks tying things up with a quickness. The goal was scored by Tomas Hertl, and assisted by Joonas Donskoi and Timo Meier. At the 3 minute mark, with  tension still high, William Carrier would laid a hit on Barclay Goodrow and instantly was attacked by a couple of the Sharks. Goodrow dropped his gloves while Carrier was caught completely off guard and struggled to get any possession and one his gloves off.  Brenden Dillion served two for cross checking William Carrier before the fight and Goodrow and Carrier each got 5 for fighting. 30 seconds afterwards the powerplay was killed off, and Cody Eakin capitalized with his 21st goal of the season, this one assisted by Deryk Engelland and Ryan Carpenter.

The Knights rolled into the 3rd period with a 2-1 lead and a record 27-0-2 after leading for 2 periods. The Knights started the 3rd period with a 2 minute power play. Logan Couture caught William Karlsson with a high stick at the 2nd period end. The Knights did not get off a shot on the powerplay. 7 minutes and 22 seconds into the 3rd, Evander Kane scored an unassisted goal to get the game back tied up. In a scary moment around the 10 minute mark of the 3rd, Nate Schmidt took a hard shot to the knee from Kevin Labanc that dropped him to the ice. The Sharks and the Knights would go goal for goal exactly 30 seconds apart. Both coming in the their offensive zones from a faceoff. The Sharks came first as Logan Couture was credited with winning the faceoff and the assist to Marc-Edouard Vlasic for the goal to claim the lead . Then 30 seconds later, William Karlsson was credited with winning the faceoff and the assist to Shea Theodore for the goal to tie the game back up. With about 4 minutes left in the period they would start pushing shoving with a couple of punches. William Carrier and Timo Meier were both called for roughing. With the 3rd almost expired the Knights Colin Miller was called for hooking. The Knights made it into OT for 22 seconds before Brent Burns banked one for the game winning over time goal. The Knights are 99% sure they in the 3rd spot  and will not be moving up in the Pacific. The Knights will faceoff against the Oilers Monday at T-Mobile.

Last year he tallied up 11.5 sacks during the National Championship run for Clemson. This may not be what Raiders fans want at the number 4 pick BUT this may be what the Raiders need a good piece to help with sacks and a high character guy to collect the big pay check for a high first round pick. He shows no quit and has a good work ethic in college and a strong family with a military background. This type of behavior can be a contagious for a locker room in the NFL. GAME 7 END GAME FOR THE KNIGHTS

Game 7 was a faceoff between the Knights and the Sharks that solidified a rivalry that's been building.  The Knights started out a minute 58 into the game with a Colin Miller hooking call to put the Sharks on a early power play. The Knights PK held the Sharks to no shots. 19 seconds after the Knights came through on the PK McNabb was called for a weak crosscheck to put the Sharks right back on the power play. The Knight's PK and MAF came through in a team effort to kill off the penalty. With just over 10minutes into the 1st William Karlsson scored the first goal on a nice little chip-in goal assisted by Reilly Smith and Marchessault. The Knights went on their first PP of the game but momentum was cut short by Tuch with an interference on Braun. It was weak call as Tuch was getting back on sides a barely bumped Braun.
