ST LOUIS GIVES VEGAS THE BLUES

Both the Blues and the Knights came into this game looking to clinch playoff spots. The Knights were looking for 1 and the Blues were looking for 2. The Knights headed to St. Louis after a tough loss on Saturday night and the Blues are heating up by winning their last 3 in a row. The Knights have some key players out, Max Pacioretty, MAF, Pierre Edouard Bellemare and  Shea Theodore were out for this game. This is Shea Theodore's 2nd missed game all season. Colin Miller was activated, taking Shea's spot.

Fun facts about ex-teammates Paul Stastny and Alex Steen; they are 2 of 4 active players in the NHL that are part of a father/son duo that have more than 600 career points in the NHL. After Paul Stastny was traded to the Winnipeg Jets he contacted his ex teammate Steen to ask him and his father if it was ok if he wore Thomas Steen's number 25. The Steen's joined the Stastnys, Howes, Hulls in elite hockey families.

The game started out bad on both ends with no one getting a shot on goal until almost 5 minutes in. During a power play in the first period Deryk Engelland was standing straight up in front of the goal when ex-misfit and old friend,  David Perron tacked a heavy shot at the goal hitting Engelland in the left side of his face. Engelland took a knee for a quick second. He was  back on his feet and made his way over to the bench. He later returned to the game. Both teams played a good defensive period and you can say they were just plain out horrible not producing on offense. The Blues came up with a goal in the last 2 minutes of the period off a giveaway from Malcom Subban.

In the second,  the Knights showed some signs of life closing out a power play with 2 seconds left, William Karlsson caught the rebound to put the biscuit in the basket. The goal was assisted by Colin Miller and Jonathan Marchessault. The Knights had the game tied up for 3 minutes and 2 seconds. AGAIN in the last 2 minutes of the period the Blues came through with a goal from Ryan O'Reilly assisted by Jay Bouwrneester and Colton Parayko. At 13:33 mark of the 3rd Zack Sanford claimed the final goal of the game assisted by Robert Bortuzzo and Alex Pietrangelo. The Blues became the 2nd team in a short history to sweep a series against the Knights. The Wild swept the Knights last season. In individual achievements, Jonathan Marchessault got his career 200th point and William Karlsson got his 7th powerplay goal of the season leading the team in PPG.

FULL DRAFT FOR THE RAIDERS

The Raiders with the 4th overall pick drafted Clemson's DE Clelin Ferrell a player projected to be a middle first round pick. The Raider had the least amount of sacks in the league this last year. He is consisted a high character guy. He was red shirted his freshman year in college due to a torn ACL in high school. His 3 years in college he did not miss a game and had 27 sacks. Last year he tallied up 11.5 sacks during the National Championship run for Clemson. This may not be what Raiders fans want at the number 4 pick BUT this may be what the Raiders need a good piece to help with sacks and a high character guy to collect the big pay check for a high first round pick. He shows no quit and has a good work ethic in college and a strong family with a military background. This type of behavior can be a contagious for a locker room in the NFL. He was number #2 on the Raiders draft board 2nd to only Nick Bosa. The Raiders with the 24th pick select running back Josh Jacobs form...

GAME 7 END GAME FOR THE KNIGHTS

Game 7 was a faceoff between the Knights and the Sharks that solidified a rivalry that's been building.  The Knights started out a minute 58 into the game with a Colin Miller hooking call to put the Sharks on a early power play. The Knights PK held the Sharks to no shots. 19 seconds after the Knights came through on the PK McNabb was called for a weak crosscheck to put the Sharks right back on the power play. The Knight's PK and MAF came through in a team effort to kill off the penalty. With just over 10minutes into the 1st William Karlsson scored the first goal on a nice little chip-in goal assisted by Reilly Smith and Marchessault. The Knights went on their first PP of the game but momentum was cut short by Tuch with an interference on Braun. It was weak call as Tuch was getting back on sides a barely bumped Braun. The Sharks took their time with the puck on the 4 on 4 to get to their power play. The Knights PK came through again. The Period ended 1-0 Knights. The sec...
