Day 3 of the 2019 NFL Draft kicked off with the Raiders with the 106th pick. The Raiders drafted Maxx Crosby 6'5" 245lbs Defensive End out of Eastern Michigan. Maxx was a redshirt his freshman year and played 37 games over his 3 year career at Eastern Michigan. Maxx had 73 solo tackles 89 assisted, making that a total of 162 tackles. 41 of his tackles came from a loss and he racked up 41 sacks over his 3 year career averaging just over a sack a game. In the 2018 season he had 31 solo tackles 39 assisted giving him a total of 70 tackles on the season. 19 of his tackles came for a loss and he had 7.5 sacks. He finished 4th among DE, LB, and edge rushers in the combines 3-cone drill with official 6.89. He will definitely be a big help to a team that had a league low 13 sacks last year.
TRADE
The Raiders SEND 109th pick to the Colts and RECEIVED the 129th & 135th pick
The Raiders selected with the 129th pick CB Isaiah Johnson out of Houston. Johnson is a another 6'2" CB drafted by the Raiders. He originally started his college career as a WR. He made a full transition to CB his junior year. Over his two years at corner he had 84 solo tackles and 27 assisted tackles, giving him a total 111 tackles in his final two years of college. He had 2 INTs in each year as a CB giving him a total 4 INTs in two years as a CB. Looking at his stats and size he will be able to help on the defense against the run. He is also a big fast CB and I will be looking forward to seeing him play some press zone coverage this coming years.
TRADE
The Raiders SEND 135th pick to the Flacons and RECIVED 137th and 230th pick.
With the 137th pick the Raiders selected LSUs 6'5" 253lbs TE Foster Moreau. He started 4 games in his first 2 years at LSU. His sophomore year, he caught 6 passes for 79 yards with 1 touchdown. He started his final two seasons at LSU with 44 receptions, 550 yards and 5 TDs. At the NFL Combine he had 22 reps in bench press that put him in a 4-way tie among TEs. He was 5th among TEs in 40 times with a 4.66 "unofficial" sprint. He was 3rd in his vertical jump coming in with just over 3' with 36.5 vertical jump. 4th in his board jump 121", 7th in the 3-cone drill 7.16, 1st in the 20 yard shuttle run 4.11 seconds dominating among TEs with by.08, and finally 4th among TEs in the 60 yard shuttle with a 11.81. He is a big body that should be quick off the ball and with a good ability to catch the ball and the ability to get up field on the run and hopefully be able to get the reps to prove it. If not he will definitely be a good player to develop in the Raiders system to become a good player in the future.
TRADE
The Raiders SEND 158th & 218th pick to the Cowboys and RECIVED 149th pick
With the 149th pick the Raiders selected their 3rd Clemson player WR Hunter Renfrow. He was one of Clemson's captains in his senior year. He was 3rd in the cone drills among WR in the Combine. In his 4 years with Clemson He had 186 rec, 2133 yards, 11.5 per catch average, and 15 TDs. Renfrow is not a fast WR but very quick and shifty WR that will be a perfect WR that never gives up on the play and is know for his ability to get open and help a QB extend the play. He played in 3 National Championship games with Clemson winning 2 out of 3. He caught the game winning TD pass in the 2016 seasons National Championship game. He is said to be a projected starter on most teams as a slot WR with his sure hands.
With 230th pick the Raiders selected DE Quinton Bell from Prairie View A&M. He is a 6'4" 220lbs senior. He was listed as a DB on most sites but played DE. He played on the offensive side of the ball for his first 3 season at Prairie View with not much opportunity. Over his first 3 season he had 19 reception 259 yards and 1 TD. He played solely on the defensive end of the ball his senior season. Clearly he will be looked at for his pass rushing abilities. He had 14 solo tackles with 39 assisted giving him a total of 59 tackles with 10 tackles for a loss and 7.5 of those were sacks. He is a 2018 2nd team All SWAC selection.
